We kickstarted 2026 with some creative community building events, bringing 70 people together from across our Greater Manchester community.

In February, 50 of us gathered for our first Community Meeting of 2026. We discussed our pilot proposal and shared stories of the campaign so far, how far we’ve come, and why we all still need a Living Income.

James, our Middleton Organiser, shared that ‘If we all had a Living Income, everything would be sunny’. 

And Mama Tendayi, one of our Steering Group members, shared her journey into the campaign, saying ‘I thought I was going to live a quiet life. Instead, I feel like I’ve joined a revolution’.

In March, 20 of us gathered for our Create and Connect event, as part of the Live Well Spring Festival. We brought people together from across Greater Manchester to create a banner to showcase at future events.

Inspired by our commitment to the campaign, we each created a panel showing why we or our organisation are part of this coalition. We can’t wait to show you the finished banner!
